Tranquility theme.
The cocktail room in the grand old Paragon in Katoomba NSW where the fox trot, the 'all stars', glitter and glamour and sobranie smoke haunt the stillness therein.

A friend of mine recently gave me a book by Robert McChesney, The Death and Life of American Journalism: The Media Revolution that Will Begin the World Again." I subsequently emailed McChesney two Herald articles about the outsourcing and resulting protest strike. About a week ago Newhouse Newspapers announced that it was cutting back printing of New Orleans' only daily newspaper to three days a week, along with papers in three cities in Alabama. Good luck Newcastle!

Has luck run out? A curious book title, I could look further. Community Run.org have a protest/petition - all are welcome to sign!
I see The Times - Picayune on line etc... the writing's on the wall whether we like it or not. Good ideas about community ownership are heard. There's been other shakeups and fears before this. Now it is reported that discussions about outsourcing have been extended.
