Motor home rally close to Nelson Bay has many many participants - this might be a quarter of the visitors who have occupied the sport facilities as well as additional marques designed for interest groups, chautauquas and all the rest of it, it is supposed.
It is to be hoped no anarchy arises - these nomad retirees are a force to be reckoned with!
Newcastle has the HQ of the national motor home organisation.
Security is high on the agenda.
All this idle recreation is enough to stress out treasurer Hockey and his side kicks.

There are more free activities than you can 'poke a stick at' in Speers Point Variety playground which was given a workout by loads of picnicing families today, Father's Day.
All children with different needs and abilities can participate and make use of accessibility features.

Foreshore park, Sunday. A game of cricket during a party.

Salesman at work.  A fold out camping bed under canvas has morphed into a five room complex. Under canvas. Underneath is a basic unit - a smallish shallow trailer built to tow off-road and on dirt tracks or wherever.

Clutter and storm clouds at Newcastle Ocean baths.
Imagine journing home in the evening after swmming at the end of a scorching summer's day. Whisps of cool breeze mixed with heavy warm air along with a restfulness or weariness.

Benign stream. Unremarkable yet like another Eden and a source of almost guilty pleasure in the current 'climate' beset with floods and hardship. Paterson river.

 Accommodation, Hunter Valley Vineyards.

 A door mat with words.
The building was moved to this location. It was a church property in a country town before . It is named Peppers Convent.

Late Sunday In Canberra. Once the men-in-suits were out of the way, a load of ice on a sloping bank had snowboarders take off, jump onto a pair of picnic tables and back to earth, in full view, no less of Parliament House, High Court and National Gallery!
The National Galley has Masterpieces from the Musee D'Orsay in Paris exhibition drawing to an end with an unprecedented number of visitors. Add to this, ABC radio will go live from the gallery this starry night from 2am for several hours as part of the closing hoo-ha.
To any other gallery under renovation: please loan us your priceless collection. It will be underwritten by the National government.
The Feds will have lots of spare cash if they renege on the health budget. Their rehetoric about funding is absurd, largess does not come into it nor contingency, funding of services is what it takes, is a normal right and is the purpose of revenue.
At the same time, a well thought out revolution to rationalise our health services is required - a task that gives the top layer of government something to justify their existence.

Early morning and about to leave the caravan park, these bikies had been to WA to a meeting and returned round the top end and were on the home run after covering a massive distance. A Wicked camper was also making tracks.

Not more about milk. Loved by campers and others is long-life milk or UHT milk.
Believe the company, Dairy Farmers, did a lot of work to perfect this handy product. Early it was taken up by caterers, eg, in airlines, and it must be perfect for export to those countries with hot weather which, ideally, is unsuitable for dairy farms.
For that reason, it was even unusual for dairies to start up in northern NSW.
UHT milk is considered unsuitable by some experts.

Tent city and caravans and cabins close to Crescent Head beach. Visitors are 'packed in' during the Dec-Jan holiday season and seem happy without any five star developments (although the cabins are up to date). As usual, any spot right near the waterfront is a draw-card and here they are spoilt for choice.
This little town remains largly 'unspoilt'. No high rise or parking lots or trendy developments. No monoculture here, it can be found in most other places.

I hardly ever dream of a White Christmas!
Newcastle Ocean Baths yesterday.

Rainbow Lorikeet. ....almost continuous screeching and chattering.... the description fits this flock heard right beside Nobbys beach - a city beach.  The trees around the car park were blossoming and were a haven for the visitors. They were rivalled by the human 'lorikeets' on the beach.
