AGROUND ON NOBBYS BEACH

Stuck hard and fast on Nobbys Beach four hours ago. Gales and heavy surf have probably run the Pasha Bulkers aground.
The crew were ferried by choppers to the nearby park- dangerous work.
As many as seventy ships queue off shore waiting to load coal supplies and they move right
out to sea when storms threaten.
Soon after, a torrential rain storm hit and in no time water overflowed the gutters flooding many parts of town for a time, adding to the chaos.

It was no weather for a dog

First, I thought it was Newcastle UK...Hope the weather will be calm very soon. At least, have you had enough rain?

Looks like it is maybe going to break up. The storm is hitting Sydney now; glad I am home!

More rain than enough, Chichester (cant spell) dam is over the spillway etc. Many suburbs have flash floods a meter deep,no power etc, very unusual for them. Every service is stretched. But I have been fortunate.Weather has eased alhtought it is said it will return this afternoon for a time.

You take care, Julia.

Not doing much for Warragamba it seems - localised to coast.

It must be a nasty storm from all the talk and your excellent photographs. Your journalistic skills exceed mine. Stay safe.

Hi Julie, it was bad on the central coast but I heard it was worse in Newcastle. Congratulations for getting to Nobbys Beach to report on the event, it's a remarkable sight!
Hope you are well

(I have put a link to your photos today)

Images of the Titanic are right on. One of the fun things about wild weather is the hot chocolate and shelter that follows. Am enjoying the lull. Old Man Lincoln - your modesty is showing.

Wow, dramatic shots! You were brave to venture out in that weather. I escaped it all, I'm in Queensland now. :-)
