LOOKING OUT & HOUSE ARREST

A tribute to Aung San Suu Kyi and all political prisioners in the east and in the west
Suu Kyi, is under house arrest in Burma (or Myanmar) and the length of detention has just been increased. She was given the Nobel Peace Prize in 1991 while under house arrest.
I am in good company with this as Laura has drawn attention to this cause recently.

Hello Julia! Nice view from your window, is it a primary fern in the shadow (I translated from French: "fougère arborescente" which grows in very very old forests...)? And thank you for your visit in my garden!

Tree fern we say, found in the remnants of coastal rainforests also used widely in gardens now,is probably ancient. imagine how it was before the forests were cleared and are still being cleared. Temperate rain forests were never really widespread and most has been cleared even for unsuitable farming.

Good on you Julia for drawing the attention on the fate of Aung San Suu Kyi. What a brave woman she is!
