Chequerplate with a 'Q' or Checkerplate or Treadplate
Hasn't this aluminium caught on? Not only is it used in the making of storage for work gear or somesuch but it is likely to turn up on the walls of kitchens or whatever.

Normally, this was in the form of strong thick metal plate used as a base, for example as a floor of an industrial platform or as stairs.
